The Springfield Muni Opera will partner with the Central Illinois Food Bank this season to help feed the hungry in Central Illinois.

Beginning with the season opener, "Hello Dolly!" every Muni patron bringing a non-perishable food item to the Muni will receive a free box of popcorn. The effort will continue every night of the eight night "Dolly" run and throughout the season every Wednesday, "Family Night."

So get ready to "bring your can" to the Muni for a great time and a great cause! Muni fans, let's make this a great success for the Central Illinois Food Bank!

BEST THEATRICAL PRODUCTION (MUSICAL)
Grease
Springfield Muni Opera
Directed by Carly Shank at the Muni Opera, Grease was the big winner and not just in the "Best of Springfield" poll. This summer, Grease broke all previous box-office records in a production that kept moving, singing, and dancing. Shank and her team of designers and high-octane performers gave the whole thing a great new look and energy.
Runner-up: Miss Saigon (directed by Paul Presney Jr., Springfield Muni Opera)
