This Tony Award winning musical is the story of a young girl, Mary Lenox, whose parents died in India. She comes to live with her Uncle Archibald in the moors of Yorkshire. Archibald is still grieving over the death of his wife, Lily. With the help of Lily’s lost garden, the wisdom of Mary’s new Yorkshire friends and the ghosts of her departed loved ones, Mary helps herself, her uncle and her cousin Colin learn to live and love again.
This enchanting children’s story has one of the most beautiful scores ever to be heard on Broadway. Of special interest to Springfield audiences, the original Broadway cast included Muni veteran, Peter Samuel as Major Holmes.
