AUDITION INFORMATION
Our staff is thrilled to bring The Addams Family to the Muni stage for the first time. The Addams Family is comedy at its finest, but also contains a powerful message of love, acceptance and embracing each other’s quirks. We are seeking approximately 30 cast members who can embrace their “inner kookiness.” All auditionees are required to attend a dance audition and encouraged to sing a selection that showcases one’s vocal abilities. Singing a selection from The Addams Family is not required. We hope you join us this summer! *snap snap*
***NOTE*** Dance is required for all auditioning.
PARTS AVAILABLE
Gomez Addams: (Tenor/Dance/Appears 35-55)
The patriarch of the family. Fiercely devoted to his family and extremely proud to be an Addams. Gomez winds up caught between his wife and daughter, and becomes torn on how to keep them both happy. Vocal Range: B2-G4
Morticia Addams: (Alto-Mezzo Sop./ Dance/Appears 35-50)
Beautiful, confident and the true head of the family. This confidence sometimes blinds her to the thoughts and feelings of others around her. Vocal Range: G3-A5
Uncle Fester: (Tenor/Dance/Appears 30-50)
Narrator of the show. Big-hearted, enthusiastic, with a child-like playfulness at times. Vocal Range: C3-C5
Grandma: (Dance/Appears 100+)
A creepy and kooky old lady, who may not always have it together, but is always around to lend a word of advice. Seeking a feisty actress. Vocal Range: G4-F5
Wednesday Addams: (Strong pop voice with
belt/Dance/Appears 18)
Young and beautiful, with the wit of her mother and the heart of her father. Wednesday yearns for her parents to understand her love for a boy who is not like them. Must have a strong belt. Vocal Range: A3-E5
Pugsley Addams: (Unchanged voice/ Dance/Appears 13)
A devoted family member, just like his father, who worries about losing his sister, which leads to some mischief in the Addams household. Vocal Range: A3-F5
Lurch: (Bass/Dance/Appears 25-50)
A tall man of few words. Most utterances spoken are long, drawn out groans, but occur at the most poignant times. Vocal Range: E2-E4
Mal Beineke: (Bari-tenor/Dance/ Appears 40-55)
Uptight father to Lucas, and lackluster husband to Alice. Mal does not look forward to meeting with the Addams and finds it to be a waste of his time. Vocal Range: C3-C5
Alice Beineke: (Soprono/Dance/Appears 40-50)
A mousy, stereotypical housewife who has devoted her time to her family, losing some of herself along the way. Her time with the Addams allows her to open up a bit and discover a side of herself she had forgotten. Vocal Range: G3-G#5
Lucas Beineke: (Tenor/Dance/ Appears 19)
Attractive young man, deeply in love with Wednesday. Does not fit the Addams family persona, which leads to some teenage heartbreak along the way. Vocal Range: C3- C5
Ensemble: (SATB/Dance/Appear 16+)
Approximately six males and six females to portray the Addams Family Ancestors. All vocal ranges needed. Dance audition required.
