Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Muni Board of Managers has been closely monitoring the virus’ impact on our organization, our staffs, performers, volunteers, and patrons. Last year, we made the tough decision to postpone our 2020 season to the summer of 2021.
The Muni board of managers and it’s COVID-19 task force have continuously tracked the progress of the virus and the many government restrictions, regulations, and limitations imposed on our community and performing arts venues. We met with local public health experts, explored alternative season formats, and held an open forum for all board and committee members to share and discuss the known and unknown variables related to reopening during this pandemic. We did this so we could make the most informed decision possible for our patrons and volunteers considering all available information.
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of these 4 shows. The primary focus of this decision is the health and safety of our patrons, cast, crew, volunteers, and staff, and to ensure the longevity and financial strength of our organization
We want say thank you to everyone who has been by our side over the past year. To our production staffs, performers, and crew who graciously committed to wait a full year to share their talents and passions with us; to our sponsors and Backstager donors, who have continued their generous support of Muni year after year; to our volunteers who were excited to jump into action once we opened and were ready to go, and to our patrons for your continued support and patience as we work to safely welcome you back; thank you. We are so grateful and humbled by your support and dedication to the Muni.
For those of you with 2020 season tickets, be assured that they will be honored during our next season. As our Box Office prepares for 2022, we will communicate reopening dates and times when you may contact us to reserve your seats. Until then, please hold on to your tickets
At the present, we plan to use our available time to explore and envision new ways for the Muni to engage and share the performing arts with everyone. We plan to improve our Muni site and its facilities to welcome everyone back with open arms and an unforgettable 2022 season that celebrates our community coming back together again.
We can’t wait to see you back under the stars.
